DRAWINGS OF BORDEAUX'S ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE

  How everything got started!

Draftsman by training, I became rapidly fascinated by historic architecture.
In this I was fortunate as I came from Libourne (town 6km from St Emilion and 30km from Bordeaux).
I came to live in Bordeaux 21 years ago.

Architectural drawings became, for me, a great delight when in 1994 I discovered the "rue des Argentiers", a real revelation!

To create my drawings I begin by taking an accurate as possible survey of the buildings facades.
I then put together a photographic file of these facades. It is at that moment that the drawing can begin.
Nothing is left to chance. Every detail is carefully noted: positioning of stones, bays, ironwork even the door locks!

The final result represents thousands of hours of work dedicated...
The drawings are silk-screen prints on ivory coloured paper of between 255 and 300g.
I prefer to keep the drawings in black and white, i.e. without colour, so as to bring out the numerous details.
In this manner, I am following the traditional methods of draughtsmanship.
